Details

These are hydrophilic Super Mag (200 nm) with Amine groups. These surface groups allow covalent amide bond formation to proteins/peptides via primary amine or thiol groups.
The beads exhibit rapid binding chemistry and low non-specific binding of nucleic acids. Amine  or thiol modified oligonucleotides, antibodies or other ligands can easily be coupled to the beads. Activation through BS3 or Sulfo-SMCC is required. The 200 nm Super Mag Amine Beads have a large surface area, high capacity, efficient magnetic pull and good colloidal stability during incubation.

1. Can the magnetic beads be sterilized?
Yes, carboxylic acid or amine functionalized and silica coated magnetic beads can be sterilized by washing with 70% ethanol. Protein conjugated beads cannot be sterilized.

2. Can the magnetic beads be sonicated?
Yes, short time sonication (couple seconds up to 5 minutes) is a good way to reduce aggregation of the beads and create homogenous conditions for coating or coupling. However, we don’t recommend to sonicate our magnetic beads over 10 min especially for protein conjugated beads. 

3. Are magnetic beads compatible with organic solvent?
Our magnetic beads are compatible for most polar solvent such as ethanol, methanol, acetone, isopropanol, dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO), dimethylformamide (DMF), and acetonitrile.

4. Are magnetic beads compatible with urea?
Yes, they are compatible with 6–8 M urea.

5. Are magnetic beads compatible with EDTA?
Yes, our magnetic beads are compatible with EDTA.
