New Products for 2nd Quarter, 2009: Conjugation kits and Blocking Buffers
Ocean released new products during the 2nd Quarter of 2009 to accommodate the demand for biological applications of quantum dots and magnetic nanocrystals. These products include conjugation kits and blocking buffers.
The conjugation kits (Ocean’s catalog # ICK, MCK, QCK) were designed to support the modification of Ocean’s biocompatible nanocrytals with protein G, antibodies, streptavidin, DNA/RNA, biotin, and other molecules. The kits contain activation buffer, reaction buffer, and storage buffer that allow stability and colloidal dispersion of bioconjugated nanocrystals. The blocking buffers, Ocean’s catalog #BBB and #BBG, are buffers consisting of one or more proteins in PBS and in Tris buffers, respectively. These buffers were designed and tested to eliminate the non-specific adsorption of the nanocrystals to cells, microorganisms, and solid substrates used during assay developmental studies.
